Welcome to clarkstreethousing.com. The Notman building located on 2080 Clark
Street in Montreal was built in 1867 by William Notman, a prominent Montreal
businessman and photographer. It is located in the Ville Marie borough in
downtown Montreal, next to the newly renovated cartier des spectacles and within
walking distance to McGill University. The building is strategically situated one
street west of the infamous Saint Laurent/Sherbrooke corner in the center of
Montreal’s day and nightlife scene and close to the Saint Laurent and Place des arts
The property has been completely renovated and expanded to include seven brand
new apartments – each having four to five bedrooms with two full bathrooms,
kitchen and living room. The apartment sizes vary from 1250 to 1600 square feet.
Each room in every suite has wired high-speed internet, fire detectors, sprinklers,
and all seven suites are equipped with a state of the art security system. Our suites
are fully furnished with beds, study desks, flat screen televisions, furniture, and fully
stocked kitchens; Tenants are only required to provide linens and towels. Laundry
facilities are located in the first floor.
The Notman experience
Contrary to many student-housing apartments in the McGill ghetto and around the
Montreal downtown core, the Notman building has been completely renovated. All
of its original stone and brick walls have been restored, keeping much of its 19th
century urban charm. The addition of the fourth floor, mezzanine, and extension in
the back of the building are modern and blend perfectly with the old construction.
Jazz fest, just for laughs, opera house, museums, underground shopping scene, etc
